As Principal Research Scientist, Soyeon is the statistical lead on Frontier Science’s collaborations in a growing portfolio of tuberculosis (TB) research studies. She has over 25 years of experience collaborating on infectious disease research, with many of her current research projects concentrating on TB diagnostics and interventions to prevent and treat the disease.
She has served as lead statistician on many projects, including serving as a senior statistician with the IMPAACT network supporting its TB Scientific Committee since its inception. Her goal is to provide statistical rigor to research studies that aim to improve access to effective treatments for underserved populations, including children and pregnant women. She believes that patients in resource-limited settings should have equitable access to high quality evidence-based interventions.
Prior to coming to Frontier Science, Soyeon was Associate Professor at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and Rutgers School of Public Health. She enjoys working alongside early career statisticians and collaborating with investigators from other disciplines. She holds a doctorate in Biostatistics from the Harvard School of Public Health, where she also did her postdoctoral fellowship.
